If you have not heard of EOS (Enterprise Operating System) , it is a set of operating tools and concepts aimed at helping businesses grow and operate efficiently.   There are many consultants out there doing very similar things, but the EOS crew has done a good job of creating a set of practical tools and processes around the concepts.

You should consider reading Traction, one of their books, if you haven’t.

Recently Mike Kotsis from EOS posted a blog on How to simplify painful business decision making.

In the article he lays out how to determine your Core Focus to use as a guidepost in decision making.

“The company’s purpose, or passion. In other words, why does the company exist? This is bigger than just a goal, and it’s not just about money.

The company’s niche. What is the one thing the company is truly great at?”

At my company our core focus is readily visible and available on our intranet. It is meant to be used to help guide decision making.

It is a big ocean. Out of all of the places you can swim. As the new year approaches where will you dive in?
